Flora Acker is not magically gifted in any sense of the word. She's not even able to shape shift into an animal like the many shifters that inhabit the kingdom. And yet, despite this, she has been titled the new Beast Master, responsible for overseeing the care and training of the king's animals as well as overlooking the kingdom's livestock. So, when she stumbles upon a plot to overthrow the king and destroy magic entirely, she is caught between two worlds - does she help her king and kingdom, or support her family and other humans like her?
Erick Vincorne was only recently crowned king after the double regicide of his parents. Struggling with running a kingdom, mourning the loss of his parents, and fighting an underground rebellion, King Erick is faced with hard decisions and harder consequences.
