Freen stood at the door of their penthouse, her duffle bag slung over her shoulder, her breath unsteady.
Two years. Exactly two years today-and she was home, earlier than she had promised. Her hand hovered, sweaty and trembling, ready to knock.
She hadn't told her.
"Freen?"
She blinked.
That familiar voice.
She turned and there she was.
Her wife.
"Hey.."
"H-how..?" Becky's words faltered, disbelief in her eyes.
The bag immediately slipped from her hand as she rushed forward, her arms wrapping around her wife.
"You're home," Becky whispered against her shoulder, voice breaking. "You came home."
"Yeah," Freen breathed. "I am."
"God! I missed you.." Becky murmured as she buried her head on her wife's neck.
