It has been three years since the events of the Reichenbach fall, and one year since Sherlock's return to London, Baker Street and to John Watson. The harrowing events of Reichenbach that plagued them both appear to be distant memories. Though not as distant as Watson and Holmes would like to think...

A mysterious call from Lestrade brings Sherlock and John to a new case, and they quickly become entangled in the mysterious affairs of U.N.I.T, and a particular associate of Mycroft's, who threatens to dredge unwanted memories and feelings to the surface, and turn the world they know upside down.
