When the BAU is called to Manhattan to track down a ruthless serial offender, Dr. Spencer Reid dives into the case with his usual brilliance and quiet determination. But when the suspect turns violent during an arrest, one gunshot changes everything - and the genius profiler is rushed to Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital, fighting for his life. Across the city, Detective Bailey Jones of the SVU is already at that same hospital, her world spinning after her own sergeant, Michael Dodds, was critically injured during a DV case gone wrong. The unit is shaken, and Bailey's heart is already heavy with grief and fear. Then she hears someone calls out to her. It's Miranda Bailey. Miranda's voice is calm, clinical. Miranda discreetly informs her that Dr. Spencer Reid, her boyfriend, has been shot while on duty. She's listed as his emergency contact. In an instant, two cases - two worlds - collide in one building. As Bailey races between ICU floors, torn between duty and love, she finds herself trapped in the storm of both tragedies. The BAU is investigating one nightmare. The SVU is grieving another. And Bailey stands in the middle - watching the man she loves fight for his life while the city around her threatens to crumble. But as the truth behind both shootings begins to unravel, Bailey realizes that coincidence might not be coincidence at all. Someone is pulling the strings... and both teams may be closer to the same darkness than they ever imagined. "Two cases. Two tragedies. Two hearts - one heartbeat holding them together." (I know that Grey Sloan is based in Seattle but just for this story Grey Sloan is based in Manhattan.)

When a well-known teen is found murdered four people find their lives turned upside down ... each of them holding on to a life-threatening secret of their own makes it hard to not point a blaming finger especially when the only person who knew of these secrets is the one who ended up dead. * * * It's summer in the small town of Roxie Cove, and the smell of freshly cut grass and sizzling barbeques fill the air. Every summer, the teens are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to spend their time at Saint DeLuca, a campsite on the outskirts of town. It is a place where they can be as reckless and as sneaky as they want without their parents finding out. That's all thanks to the camp counselors. This year's core five are Kian Sullivan, Avani Grant, Dawson Hunt, Nadine O'Connor, and Marcel Bailey, and they want to make it their mission that the campers have the summer of their lives. But, when Avani Grant is found floating in the lake with stab wounds so severe she's almost unrecognizable right before the campers are supposed to show, the cops shut down Saint DeLuca. With Kian, Dawson, Nadine, and Marcel the last four to see her alive, of course, they're the main suspects. With the town on edge and Avani's web of clues slowly untangling, it's a tale of whodunnit. But as the investigation pursues, it turns out Avani held onto secrets many would want to take to the grave. Now it's time to find out who took that meaning a little too serious?
