Ever since she was a child, Melody has dreamed of following in her famous mother's footsteps and becoming a singer. But there's one problem-her voice. Convinced she doesn't have what it takes, Melody starts to lose faith in her dream. Everything changes when she crosses paths with people from a completely different world than her own. Through new friendships, raw talent, and a fresh take on music, Melody begins to discover that maybe her voice isn't the problem-it's how she's been taught to hear it.

A/N: I've been inspired by a Tumblr post from years ago. If there's similarities with other stories, that's may be why.

Featured on one of @TeenFiction profile reading lists for the month of August! Teen Fiction/Superhero WARNING: this is a slow build. Not romance-wise. It's a slow build of the main character learning her powers and becoming a vigilante. This explains the build-up of who she becomes. If that's not to your taste, then I understand and can only thank you for giving this a chance. So, thank you and I hope y'all enjoy!

High school was never supposed to be easy, but I never expected to feel so alone-especially not with friends by my side. Except, were they really my friends? They laughed with me, but never for me. They listened, but never really heard me. And when my best friend left, they didn't step closer-they stepped away. This is the story of the friends who were never really there, the love I witnessed but never felt, and the slow unraveling of a girl who was always just an afterthought. It's raw, it's real, and maybe, just maybe, it's a story you know too well. disclaimer - expect it to be cringe it's honestly just a fun lil project i'm updating from time to time, basically nothing in the storyline is planned ahead and i'm just writing whatever comes to mind whenever i remember this book exists.
