A short story about unexpected connections, the first tentative flickers of love, and the turmoil it brings.
This short story began as a story arc for the Early Birds book, but that story took a different direction and it no longer fit. It's been lying in my 'books in progress' folder for a long time, so I decided to change the name, add some meat to it, and upload it as a short story.

Insane. That's what the other soldiers called Analaya. She was almost... too happy to be there, in the midst of chaos, killing. Slipping out of 'suicide' missions, bruised and bloody, but always alive. Always smiling. And always alone. Until one night there's a fault - and it leads Laya to meeting a team just as messed up as her. 'There's no better place for crazy than 141.' ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 .ᐟ But among finding friends in her new task force, she also finds stronger feelings - hate - for her Lieutenant; Simon Riley. Redemption
Stranded on a snowy mountain road and at risk of freezing to death, Ghost is rescued by an unexpected and unlikely, good Samaritan. Trapped with a stranger, in a snowstorm, with no contact with the outside world, Ghost realises he must overcome his fear of vulnerability and deep rooted stubbornness, and accept help. He never would have imagined that backing down and swallowing his pride, could open so many doors. This storyline originated from Ghost and Roach being left for dead after being betrayed. It changed and morphed into this one after the remastered Modern Warfare, brought a new life to the character of Ghost. If I have time, I may repost with the original backstory.Complete

The Neighbor | Simon Riley
Simon Riley is dedicated to keeping his neighbour, Dina, out of precarious situations - mostly wobbly ladders and flat tires - so when she's unintentionally dragged into his work, he had one priority: get her out alive. ⁂ This is a short story about Simon Riley x his civilian neighbour. - Flirty, not smutty - Simon is overprotective - 6/10 on violence scale (just a little roughhousing, you know?) - Car chases, guns, and (ofc) a kidnapping ⁂ Simon Riley was a pretty unassuming neighbor-Dina thought so at least. Although, she hadn't expected him when she moved in three years ago... She hadn't expected Simon because why would she expect some beefed-up military guy to be her new neighbor? She assumed military lived on base in barracks, but apparently not. Apparently, they also lived the mundane outer-city life, dragging the garbage out on Thursdays and carrying bags of shopping in on Sundays. Of her neighbors, Simon was the only one she'd become friendly with, and by friendly, it meant they developed a symbiotic relationship where they would watch out for each other... Although they weren't what would typically be considered friends, they had a certain trust in each other. Or rather, Dina trusted him. Simon felt a different way about the situation. Simon saw a thousand ways that Dina could get hurt.Complete

Early Birds
The 141 being snowed under with intel and digital tech they can't decipher, ask Laswell to send them a Digital Specialist to assist them. She is not what Ghost expects and she triggers changes in his life that he never expected to experience. This is a slow burn friendship/love story. I wanted to give Simon 'Ghost' Riley some much needed love, happiness and comfort. The story doesn't follow the events of the Modern Warfare stories, but does borrow details from canon. This is my first attempt at writing for others, so constructive comments are welcome. This is a site for people to share their inspiration and stories.
