  The sequel to 'Chameleons'. If you read this before its prequel, you'll spoil that story's ending for yourself, I'm afraid. Also, I intend to continue the story - I won't be re-describing characters or summarising the events of 'Chameleons', which will probably leave you lost.
  
  
  While Dr Giaguaro is on the loose and on the run for her abominable crime, her son must deal with being treated as though he were the one who had committed the crime. At the same time, Alexi and Fiora's thoughts are turning towards parenthood.

This story has three distinct parts, that of Before, told in five chapters, an Interlude, told in its entirety, and that of After, told in 17 chapters. The story is followed by several short epilogues. Part 1, part 2 and the epilogues are all told in the 3rd person. The interlude is told in the 1st person. It's bad enough she's trapped with no way home in such a dangerous place, but when she comes across signs of a monster lurking somewhere on this uncharted isle, she comes to find that the worst of her nightmares have only just begun. because the thing that's been stalking her from the shadows as fangs and scales just like the creatures she fears the most, with intentions of keeping her trapped with it on the isle.
