"The first time I met Death, I was seven years old.
He didn't say a word.
Just stood there-
cloaked in black,
drawing the shape of a cat
on a frost-covered windowpane."

"Since that day, I didn't die.
But I never truly lived, either."

Some say Death is terrifying.
But to Gawin, Death was simply there-
quiet, still, watching from the shadows
each time his heart stopped.

Until one day,
Death stepped into the light.
And instead of taking his soul,
he gently plucked a cherry blossom
that had fallen into Gawin's hair.
