In the Pokemon universe, a new resource known as Laquium has cast its shadow across the world, seizing control over all it touches.  Laquium's presence brings grave consequences: while it inflicts suffering on Pokemon, its effects on humans are found to be even worse, twisting them into unrecognizable forms, stripped of their former selves. Faced with an impossible choice, Liko must put her faith in her longtime nemesis, Amethio, as the fate of Paldea- and the entire world- hangs in the balance.
