Draco Malfoy's wand is acting strangely.

That shouldn't surprise him. He grew up a wizard, he was more than aware of magic and jinxed or cursed objects, but this was different. It was HIS wand, it should obey HIM. Yet it stirred, almost as if it was unsettled, beckoning and begging for Draco to connect it with it's sister- the other wand that existed, wherever it was, with the same core as his own.

Draco has been handed down his mission from the Dark Lord in his fifth year. He has two years to complete the task set forth for him. This wand acting like a prissy git could derail him entirely. It could get him killed.

But the wand with the twin core isn't as far away as he expects. In fact, it sleeps on the other side of the wall from him every night. It rests in the hand of his least favourite witch, a girl he's hated since he was a child. It belongs to a witch who would burn him alive if she was given the chance. She'd laugh while doing it.

So how in the hell was he expected to complete his mission with a Willa Voss sized cement block tied to his ankles, threatening to send him to the bottom of the Black Lake.
