The New Order was founded to restore peace and structure after the war days.

Each year, six individuals are selected to go to the surface and assess for the wider return of humanity. People are selected for specific skill sets; practicality, intelligence, delegation strategy... even bravery.

The assessment process is brutal, you must be sought out by the New Order - individuals sought are put through a series of tests designed to test aptitude before the leaders of the New Order select those best placed to assess the surface.

Nobody who is selected ever returns - it used to be an honour to be selected but loved ones missing after failing to return has thrown an air of fear over the selection. But not for Roseanna Morgan. She is determined to be selected in the hope that she'll find her sister, Bonnie, who failed to return from a previous selection five years prior.

She has studied for years in the hopes that she'll be noticed by the New Order. Rigorous study is enough to be noticed, but will Roseanna have done enough preparation to survive the assessment process and be selected? If so, what will she find on the surface that means nobody returns?
