Mira Solei was raised to follow orders, marry well, and wield her radiant magic with poise-not purpose. But after years of silence and sacrifice, she walks away from everything her powerful family planned for her. With little more than a suitcase, a stubborn wisp of hope, and a head full of magic theory, Mira sets off toward the city's edge-toward freedom, fear, and a future entirely her own. But carving out a life without a map is harder than she imagined. The world beyond the Solei estate is chaotic, beautiful, and unkind. And as the lines between admiration and ambition blur, Mira must confront who she is when no one is watching-and who she's willing to become to truly belong.

One day, I was normal. The next I was anything but. On his thirteenth birthday, Tor Larson awakens to find himself and his bedroom covered in snow. So begins his journey as a Nix mage. Cursed with elemental abilities he cannot control, his only hope is to travel across the country to the Academy where teens with elemental abilities can be trained how to use them. The thing about Tor is that he's the only Nix elemental at his new school. The six official elements-Ignis, Terra, Nox, Lux, Aria and Aqua-each have their own unique cultures and histories to help support them. Tor has to figure everything out for himself and when he can't, he quickly makes enemies of the entire school. All he wants is to go home but he has to survive the school year first.
