Oath of Gold

As monstrous living weapons of a civilisation long-lost rage through the city of Ziko, brave citizens called 'Conduits' volunteer to channel the might of ancient relics and fight back. Strict laws force these heroes to only use their power when engaging monsters, even if it means overlooking the safety of human life. But when the city's most powerful Conduit sustains fatal injuries in a controversial rescue attempt, 'loner nobody' Lunel steps up to save zir and takes the Golden Oath, a mysterious and heavily restricted healing spell whose details have mostly been lost to time.
