Aarif is a seven-year-old Syrian boy.
He lost everything you can lose in the war: his house, his family, his village.
Now he has nothing left to loose.
When two soldiers find him in his village-desperate and alone-they take him with them on the dangerous journey to reach the border.
The only way is a long road along the desert.
Step off the road, and you might walk straight into a landmine. Stay on it, and you might just survive the hard journey.

Along the way, they meet Leila-twelve, brave and stronger than she knows.
She and Aarif become fast friends, bound by the hope of finding peace and balance in the world.
