"Who are you?" The mysterious man in my doorway asks.

I realize I've just been holding eye contact with him for about 30 seconds without saying anything and I respond on a beat to fast as I became flustered.

"I-I live here!" I pause "Who are you?" I ask with a raised eyebrow.

"Uh. I guess we're roommates then.." he pauses, his eyes lingering on me a moment to long as he looks me up and down. "The name's Zane.. you are?"

"Ivy. Nice to meet you Zane."

Im sitting on the couch mid-bite when Mal starts asking if anyone had moved in with me yet. I choke on my very cheesy pizza, remembering the encounter with my new roommate just a few hours earlier.

She slaps me on the back "GIRL BREATHE!" I spit the pizza back out onto my plate "Are you okay!?"

"NO!" I wipe my mouth "Girl why did you have to bring him up!?"

"...Him?" Mal gives me a look.

"Mal, no.." My tone warns her but she ignores it.

"What was his name? Is he cute? How tall is he? Do you like him? D-"

"MALLORY!!!" I interrupt "HUSH!"

"Ivy.." she raises her eyebrows up and down rapidly "Is he?"

"His name is Zane, he's about 6'0 I think, and no. I don't like him! I just met him and based on what I've seen so far he's a rude bitch."

Its silent for a moment to long.

"you didn't answer one of my questions Ivy." Mallory says.

"What question?" I raise an eyebrow.

"Is he cute?" She adds emphasis to 'cute', I roll my eyes.

"No." I say bluntly.

"I don't believe you!"

"Whatever, Mal." I playfully roll my eyes and take a bite of my pizza that's now growing cold.
