🔥 LYRA - First Person POV > The blood didn't drip-it hissed. The moment it touched the Mirror of Virelith, the obsidian cracked in a single, sharp line. Gasps rippled behind me. I didn't dare turn around. I couldn't. My pulse thundered. My blood felt... wrong. Alive. It raced through my veins like a storm trying to escape its cage. Control it, I told myself. Contain it. "Interesting," came a voice behind me-low, disinterested, amused. I turned just enough to see him: Damien Caerthynis. The prince of fire himself. Gold embroidery on his high-collared coat, eyes like tempered steel, arms folded as if watching an insect struggle on glass. He stared at me like I was a riddle with too many dangerous answers. I hated that my lungs stalled for half a second under that gaze. --- ⚡️ DAMIEN - First Person POV > She shouldn't have survived the Rite. Bloodlines don't lie. Power doesn't fake itself. The Mirror has never cracked. And yet she stood there, shoulders trembling-not with fear, but with fury. I saw it. I recognized it. Because it lived in me, too. She didn't bow. She didn't flinch. Not even when the others recoiled. "You're not elite," I said aloud, voice carrying over the silence. "But you broke something sacred." Her eyes met mine. Defiant. Unwise. Fascinating. I should've turned away. I should've dismissed her as a fluke, a glitch in the bloodline order. But the moment she looked at me-I knew. I would not forget her. And if I wasn't careful, I wouldn't survive her either. One realm, four houses, two lives.

Damien, an average and unassuming student, walked the halls of his school like a ghost-present, but invisible. He wasn't the top of the class, nor the bottom. He didn't draw attention, and he liked it that way. Blending in gave him space. Space to watch. Space to observe. Because while the world barely noticed Damien, he noticed her. Annette. She was the only ripple in the still water of his quiet life. There was something about her-something undeniable. She was elegance wrapped in confidence, untouchable but painfully real. And to Damien, she was more than a girl. She was an obsession. A purpose. Around others, Damien maintained the perfect illusion. Calm. Collected. Just another face in the crowd. But when it came to Annette, that illusion cracked. His quiet demeanor masked something darker-something sharp. Possessive. Dominant. It wasn't just that he liked her. It wasn't even that he wanted her. He needed her. As if the universe had carved her from the very core of what he lacked. He watched her like a predator stalks prey-not out of malice, but with a deep, feral instinct to claim. He noticed everything. The rhythm of her footsteps. The tilt of her head when she was lost in thought. Every person she talked to, smiled at, laughed with. And deep inside, something twisted every time she gave her attention to anyone who wasn't him. No one suspected. How could they? Damien was forgettable by design. But behind that forgettable smile was a mind carefully weaving a future where Annette belonged to him-wholly, unquestioningly. In his thoughts, there was no version of her life that didn't revolve around him. Every passing day without her acknowledgment was a glitch in the reality he was building. He didn't just want to be close to her. He wanted to own her heart. Her mind. Her choices. Not in a way she would resist-but in a way she'd learn to love. He'd make sure of it. After all, love was just another form of control when done right.
