Gears grew up with a fascination for all things mechanical. Even with her selective mutism she somehow made fast friends with Addy and Praveen who introduced her to Jeb and Kate who also got her roped in with Javi. After a negative encounter with a EF5 Kate leaves the state and Javi takes Gears with him to Florida where they both join the military.
