"Rudra," she screamed, his name slipping from her lips as he pounded into her fiercely, leaving her breathless. He was both tender and commanding.
This was supposed to be just a contract marriage, yet she felt herself falling for him, heart and soul.
"I love you," the words escaped her as he groaned and collapsed against her in release.
But silence greeted her confession. With trembling fingers, she played with his hair, lifting his face to meet hers. "I love you, Rudra," she said again, her heart racing in her chest. But as she searched his eyes, she found them cold and hard.
"You are a fool!" he shot back, shattering her heart into a million pieces.
He pulled away from her, drawing his pants up. "Get dressed. We have a business event to attend in an hour."
As he turned and walked away, a wave of despair washed over her. Did the past six months mean nothing to him? Was he just using her for pleasure and nothing else?
She felt the walls closing in around her. She wanted to leave, to never face him again. But she had no money to pay the fine for breaching their contract. She hated herself for signing away her life.
With a heavy heart, she made her way to the bathroom, where he stood, shirtless, the muscles of his back rippling as he turned to face her. His gaze traveled over every curve of her body, igniting a spark of desire despite her turmoil.
"Ready for round two?" he asked, a smirk playing on his lips.
"She loved him first. He fell harder."
