Eulogy : a speech or piece of writing that praises someone or something highly, typically someone who has just died.

I was one of many people to write a eulogy for Theophilia Moore. But it was my eulogy that stood out the most. My eulogy that cracked the case . My eulogy that told the world how I really felt.

It's the eulogy that ruined my life.

"He seemed like a puzzle to me, and I really liked solving puzzles. But somehow, I don't think that I would ever be able to solve this one." Amelia Heart, with her large smile and her infectious laugh, is what most people would think has the perfect life. They would watch as she went back to her beach house, as she went out of her way to stop and chat to her neighbours, as she would get the perfect grades. She was everything you wanted to be, and yet nobody had gotten close enough to her to understand her life in this small town at all. When her plans of leaving suddenly change, and she is forced to start attending the local school, her life takes a route that she hadn't accounted for. A new group of friends, a chance at a normal teenage life, even a potential love interest - things that Amelia had never even thought about happening after everything she'd been through. But happiness is only temporary in her life, and she knew that. It wasn't surprising to her when her past began to catch up with her present, it was simply a good thing that it had taken as long as it had. Things start happening in Amelia's life that simply don't make sense, even to her. They do say you should always keep an eye over your shoulder, especially when you know you're being hunted, but for Amelia, even an eye in every direction wouldn't be enough. Time begins counting down, fast. Did she want to involve her friends? Could the new people in her life be trusted? She wouldn't have long to make a decision. Not before her world comes blazing down, the final battle on the horizon. Tick, tock, Amelia. You don't want to be late to the party when you're the guest of honour. COMPLETED 06/11/20

How very noble of you, Mr. Lockhart. I don't need your help. I can do just fine." I retorted. "I'm a lot of things, Victoria." Tyler said leaning against the banister. "But noble is not one of them." "After today, I'm not even going to argue with that fact. They should have named you Lucifer." He smiled, not kindly. "Think of it as a warning from the devil himself. I will not warn you a second time. Throw yourself at me, Vicky, and I'll take what I want." *** Victoria Lane and Tyler Lockhart have been best friends since they were kids, and the two have been through thick and thin together. M is for Manipulative. A is for Attitude. I is for Impulsive. S is for Sarcastic. I is for Irresistible. E is for Emotionally unavailable. Put them all together and you get me - Maisie Scarlett Brooks. And yeah, I'm exactly the girl your parents warned you about. Growing up, they tell you the safest thing to do in a messed-up situation is walk away. Whether it's a toxic person or a bad party, you're supposed to listen to that little voice in your head - your conscience - and leave. -Mine booked a one-way flight to the Bermuda Triangle and never looked back. I'm the girl who tells you it's fine to take the pills - "just once." The one who throws parties that end in cops, crying, or chaos - usually all three. I'll invite you out, ghost you halfway through, and leave you stranded in a field without cell service. Don't say I didn't warn you. I didn't care about much. I didn't have much to give. Maybe you'd see things differently if you knew what I've been through. The kind of things you don't come back from without turning a little bit... cracked. Then came the night of the binge. The drive. The flashing lights. And suddenly, I wasn't just trouble - I was in it. "Maisie Scarlett Brooks, what were you thinking?!" "I was thinking it was time to go to bed. Instead, I got pulled over by some obnoxious police officer." This is the story of a girl who's been through hell, set it on fire, and is still standing in the ashes - smirking. Meet Maisie. She's a beautiful disaster, and she's not sorry.
