But as the Philippine Armed Forces perform their synchronized maneuvers, a flash of unexplained energy opens near the Independence Flagpole.

Out from the smoke and light step men and women long thought to exist only in bronze statues and history books: Andrés Bonifacio, Emilio Aguinaldo, Apolinario Mabini, Antonio Luna, Gregorio del Pilar, Melchora Aquino, Gabriela Silang, and even David Fagen-the African-American rebel who chose the Filipino cause over U.S. imperialism.

Suddenly thrust into the heart of modern Manila, these heroes-once divided by politics or ideology-now stand together under one flag, witnessing a country they fought to free. A country that speaks their names... but has long moved on.
