Isla Sterling always felt like she wasn't normal. Ever since she was a kid, she'd always see things, things no one else seemed to see or bother about. She'd always blocked it off, brushed it off as a trick of the light or fatigue. She had to. Otherwise, she'd start to think she was going insane. It made her feel like she wasn't human. But one day, in the park, when she sees a face she swears she knows from somewhere, she can't ignore it or the curiosity it brings. Little did Isla know, chasing after familiar faces would lead her down a path she never thought possible. Because yeah, Isla isn't normal. And she most definitely isn't human.

When Callie McLogh was seven years old, she had a strange dream. A dream where things weren't how they were in the 'real' world. A dream so powerful that when she woke up, she remembered everythiing that had happened to her in that place, 'Beautyland', as she named it. No one believed her when she said told others about it. Twelve years later, as an established writer, she retold her story of Beautyland to everyone and it was an astounding success. But Callie seems to have kept certain details of it to herself and when Clara Nichols arrives to interview her, she reveals the true story of her dream, claiming that "It's time to tell the real story". A confession to tell the world of how a story she narrated as a children's bedtime story was originally her best dream... and her worst nightmare. *Previously titled The Strange Dream
