8/10 people come from a dark past. Whether it was their childhood, teenage years or adult years, most people have a time period of their life that they are ashamed of or wish never happened. Whether they were forced into their dark times, or they chose the dark times, it's inevitable.

Dominic Ventura swam in the dark, he loved the all consuming feeling and control that the dark gave him. Feeling out of control, was not an option. Dominic was ready to burn the world for keeping him in the dark for so long that it was all he knew.

Hazel Brown grew up in the light. Love, kindness, and care was all she knew until she was 15. A reckless act took her family away, and she has been fighting the darkness every day since. She's smart, but sometimes your emotions don't allow rational thinking.

Dominic hates seeing the cloud of darkness surrounding Hazel and Hazel doesn't believe that Dominic is just dark. She believes the darkness is only on the outside.

"If you turn your back to me again, you better be bending over, sweetheart." *** Everyone warns you about boys who go looking for troubles, who have bruised knuckles and split lips, whose eyes are so dark that it seems like they could swallow oceans and come out alive, about the boys who look like danger, but no one warns about boys who stay silent for way too long, or ones with rings under their eyes, boys with sad eyes and boys who whisper things so sweet, so quietly that you wonder if he was an angel. Everyone warns you about the bad boys, but no one seems to warn you about the broken ones. Bar Red was a broken boy who finally finds someone to help mend his scattered pieces. Everyone saw him as the untrustworthy, unstable beast who was more than willing to punch anyone's face in. Swear words and bad habits mixed with smirks and wicked grins are enough to ward anyone off. But, apparently for Clementine, that's exactly what pulls her in. She has no clue what she's getting into but she's about to find out. She wasn't innocent, not by far, but she had dignity, a warm aura, niceness, and stubbornness that could rival a mule. Mix that with Bar's possessiveness and overprotective behavior, some interesting situations will definitely arise. Adding in the fact that Clementine had to tutor Bar for the rest of the school year and his almost instinctual urge to be apart of her life, they are bound to get close. Bar swears, Clementine hates it. He fights, she glares while bandaging up his knuckles. She reads instead of eats and he refuses dinner until she joins him. He is rude and she ignores him until he apologizes. Both, easily, frustrate the other while simultaneously falling into love. Broken boys are the only ones that can fix themselves so will this broken boy manage to do so before he drives away the one girl who wiggled her way past every barrier? This is the story of a broken bad boy clashing with the sad good girl. * #1 in the Red series Stand alone

Rated: MA 18+ The familiarity of our small towns Main Street almost overwhelmed me. I never pictured I'd be back here since I left. Yet here I was again, 15 minutes from my childhood home in Greenwood. Although I never thought I'd be Hazel Campbell again but here I am. "I parked over here" Maddy lead me to the right where her car was parked in the guest spot. "It feels weird to have seasons again, it was always so hot in Miami" I sighed cracking my window. Even the air smelt nostalgic as the orange and brown leaves littered the streets. "I couldn't live over there, Greenwood has my heart even though ain't shit around" Maddy laughed as her phone went off. "Oh! It's Chris he asked what we're doing later!" "Chris.. Wilder? You guys keep in touch??" My jaw dropped slightly I hadn't heard that name in 9 years almost. I fidgeted with my fingers in my lap fighting the memories. I believed in the butterfly effect, I think I fell out of my destiny long ago and now I'm just being punished with a life where things will always fall apart. "Of course I do, you know we've always had tension" she laughed starting her car pulling out of the parking spot. "Please we should go! We can get the band back together!!" Except we'd be missing one person.. still I put a fake smile on my face and agreed to go. Chris wasn't the problem, his bitch ass best friend was. I guess you could say my ex bitch ass best friend. -------------- this book is rated 18+ and contains: Dark themes, dark romance, mentions of underage drinking, smoking, sex, BDSM, bad language, mentions of abuse, depression, and possibly more.
