The Newbies

Ava, Miles, Benjamin, Finn and Dominic have one thing in common; they go to the same high school.
After an eventful day of detention, they discover that they also have a common talent for music and start to become friends.
But then they come crashing back to their realities and realize that their friendship isn't possible in the narrow-minded Royce Academy.
Why would the popular girl, a nerd, a jock and a juvenile be friends anyway?
But something, call it fate, keeps bringing them back to one another.

"Who's that?" My friend, Julie, asked me.
I looked at Benji and shrugged.
"Just some nerd." I said, hating the words coming out of my mouth.
Benjamin looked at me. He looked really upset and hurt. He nodded before speaking,
"You know what, Ava? F**k you. F**k you and this entire school. You're so scarred about everybody else's opinion on you, that you forget to have your own opinion. And I hate you." He said looking at me with disappointment in his eyes.
"Hey! Who are you to talk about my girlfriend that way?" My boyfriend, Caleb, yelled at Benjamin.
"Just some nerd who happened to sleep with your girlfriend before you did." Benji said before storming off.
"You did what?!" Caleb yelled at me, "You slut!"
I took off crying, but not before seeing Finn, Dominic and Miles disappointed faces
