There are stories that begin with swords. Others, with crowns. Some with bloodshed. Some with glory. This one begins with neither. Not with a blade unsheathed, Not with a prince's cry. But with a single whisper. A command that should have meant death: "Bring the prince to me... alive." And so, the hunter was sent. He was not meant to feel. Not meant to falter. Not meant to listen to the quiet laughter of a boy who bloomed like spring, Or the softness of warm fingers over old scars. He was meant to be a shadow. But the crown never understood the cost of its commands. It never saw the boy as anything more than a piece on a board. It never imagined that the hunter would begin to wonder- Not what it meant to serve, But what it meant to stay. Before the war. Before the fall. Before the name of the empire was buried in ash and song- There was a garden. And in it stood a boy who wanted nothing but peace. And a man who had only ever known silence. This is their story. One where the stars remember, The wind still sings, And the flowers- Never die.

Highest Ranking: #160 in Fantasy Excerpt: "The talisman was a long, curved piece of gold, inlaid with small diamonds along the edges. It was almost like a boomerang, except it was smaller and had ornate carvings of old Pagan runes on it that could, unfortunately, no longer be read by any man or woman still walking on Earth. Par quickly picked up everything that had fallen out of his bag before he threw it on his back saying "grab on," and extended his hand towards mine. I rolled my eyes at his dramatic speech and took his offered hand." *This wonderful cover was created by @holmesfapel - check out the stories there too!!!
