Humans once existed in the realm, but one day, a human got curious and created a way to turn a human into a steve.
It was just pure simple curiousity about what it would be like be a steve. But it had grave consequences for the other humans in the realm, as steves, who did not like the humans, found out about this spell, and used it on others, making it be considered a curse by those who were unwilling, and the original creator of it, who had just wanted to feed her curiousity about steves.
Eventually, the leaders got together and banned the spell from ever being used again, destroying every scroll where someone may have written it down, sadly, they could never find the original, for it had been stored away, and eventually its memory was lost to time by most.
