Love, when real, doesn't always come in pretty packages. It arrives in broken syllables, shaky hands, unanswered calls, and long, quiet stares. It's messy. It's uncertain. It's complicated. Lucy never believed love could make a person whole. Not until she met Femi charismatic, unpredictable, charming to a fault. He wasn't perfect, not even close. But with her, he tried. He learned. He changed. At least, that's what she chose to believe. In a city pulsing with secrets and shadows, where trust was a luxury and loyalty an illusion, their connection blossomed in the most unusual way born from chaos, tempered by mistakes, and held together by hope. But even love built on transformation has its ghosts. On one rainy evening, a broken phone call would shake the very foundation of Lucy's heart. What she thought was an emergency turned into something else entirely something beautiful... something terrifying... something unforgettable. But what happens when evil lurks behind the curtains, hiding in plain sight and whispering through the cracks of a once-perfect home? When pain lingers long after the surprises fade, and truth turns into a bitter storm, will Lucy and Femi fight for what they built? Or will they succumb to the cruelty of nature, and let the past swallow their future?

She felt his warm palm on her wrist and at once she was facing him. Without warning, his lips engulfed hers, setting her on fire just like she did him. His lips were warm and soft and she revelled in it as she shut her eyes, her body instantly warming up to the kiss. She wrapped her arms around him, marvelling at how their bodies fit perfectly together. It felt so good, like her head was rotating. Nothing else mattered. Just the two of them. This was all she needed. Someone who accepted her for her. Her flaws, her beauty, herself, hook line and sinker. She withdrew reluctantly, angry she had to stop the kiss and also afraid someone had seen them. As she stared into his eager eyes, she knew she loved him but she couldn't help thinking she was doing the wrong thing. She loved him, but it wasn't fair to his girl. She could do anything, run, apologise, but she followed her heart. She drew him back and continued the kiss. A Nigerian themed story bound to leave you yearning for the next chapter.
