I am SomeGuy. People have enjoyed reading my chapters across all my fics for some reason, and I saw that a handful of my readers were people either interested in writing or already writers, so I decided to make this to help everyone else out.
I'm not a professional writer though, and some of these things might not apply to you, so take some of my tips with a grain of salt.
Writing isn't as easy as people think, and I would know, 'cause I thought this would be easier than it actually turned out being. I've been writing for a few years now, but it's still hard at times, and it probably won't get any easier. I doubt this book will change much for you, but I still want to make life easier even by a little bit.

The Whispering Storm || A Warrior Cats Fanfiction
Every disaster that threatens a Clan means StarClan will come and save you. You'll receive a prophecy that will save everything you love. The peril is vanquished in a battle, and there is no need for sleeping with one eye open anymore. StarClan will forever watch over you from your nest and keep you safe. That is what has been passed down from generations. Not every tale has to end like that: StarClan saving everyone with the chosen cat, everyone loving the hero or heroine - but it always does. So facing a challenge such as missing cats shouldn't be a challenging task. Moons pass on, cats keep disappearing faster and faster; nobody is doing anything to prevent the case. Everyone is relying on StarClan to send the prophecy to their medicine cat, just hoping that one day, the fiasco will end. Yet that's not the way fear works its way into hearts. Warriors, once brave and strong, now cowering behind one another. Apprentices with their eagerness to learn, now afraid of the outside world and going missing. Queens, always caring for their kits, now fearful of losing them to the mystery. Elders, who are as wise as the deepest river, now unable to provide an answers. With leaf-bare creeping up, the Clans are preparing for the harsh weather. Preparing for another season should be like gathering moss for the elders, but not this time. This time, the Clans are struggling just to assemble a hunting patrol and maintain borders. Forcing time out of daily tasks is asking the impossible. Leaf-bare is going to take the remaining lives of the cats that are lucky enough to even make it through leaf-fall. Warriors - Burnt Skies
A fire. Caused by twolegs. And suddenly Nightpaw's entire life as she knows it has changed. The four clans that had ruled the territories for centuries have been wiped out. Now the future for any sort of clan rests in the paws of four apprentices. They will need to find a new territory, a new place to communicate with StarClan and, most importantly, cats to form a clan with. Will they survive? This story is set many moons after the great cats during Firestar's time were around. Also, any arcs after the first arc did not happen. DISCLAIMER I do not own warrior cats (Erin Hunter does), this is just a fanfic I made based off it. However, the plot idea and the characters belong to me so don't steal them. Like all warrior cats stories, there is an element of gore in it. You have been warned.

Horsekit has a great reputation. Her mother, Cinderstripe, saved the clan from the Twolegs. You'd be respected too, right? Until she became mute and disfigured. An accident involving a fox, kills her brother, and permanently injures her. Stormstar, the leader, doesn't think that she could become a warrior, what she wanted to be when she was old enough. So he appoints her as the medicine cat apprentice AND a warrior apprentice. He says she has to train in both positions. And she has three moons to train in both, and pass both assessments to chose what she wants to be. If she fails one, Stormstar chooses what her future holds. But training in both ranks isn't easy. It takes a toll on the body, mind, and emotions. So Horsepaw looses friends, gains friends, makes sacrifices, and finds out shocking secrets. Working title, ok? Disclaimer: Warriors is NOT mine, nor will I claim it. The characters, clans and place are all my idea but the customs and ideas are not mine (except the plot, that's mine as well but still. UGH! BASICALLY WARRIORS WAS NOT MY IDEA. THERE. MUCH LESS HEADACHE-INDUCING). Warriors is by Erin Hunter (who is more than one person if I remember correctly). Bramblenight is just a normal warrior. And he wishes to keep it that way. But when his Clan - and more importantly, his leader - are threatened by StreamClan and ForestClan, he has to help his Clan to keep them out of their territory. Though StarClan has plans for him, too, and when he starts getting dreams about five unknown kits, he starts to wonder if maybe he's part of something bigger than he wants to be. How to write like a Pirate, Get readers, and other inspirational crap
I get asked a lot for advice so I'm going to sum up all of it here. So sit down, shut up, and don't go anywhere because this book will change your life. Or at least it better, otherwise you're probably doing something wrong. I'll cover things like: General Advice on being a better Writer or anything really. Why you aren't getting any reads, and how to get more. Tips, life lessons, and what I learned the hard way. How to be a good reader and why that matters. How to fix basic problems about your story to help it get noticed. Basic advice on Tags, cover, description. I'll talk about things you may not even know you are doing wrong yet. What it means to be a Pirate as a writer and why you should be one too. And I'll update more as needed. Generally, it's a bunch of stuff that's not always obvious or you didn't think about at first. Lessons that I discovered through a long painful process of trial and error. Everything may not be exactly right in everyone's eyes, but nobody's perfect. Be aware, this book may both change your life for the better and unapologetically attack you on a personal level at the same time. Because how can you know what to fix if you didn't know what is broken? You can write. You can be a writer, novice or professional. And maybe you are simply failing in some way because nobody told you what-not-to-do yet. Let me tell you. Let me break you down and build you up so that you can succeed.
