Off course ~ The act of not following the intended route.
When Remy Beaufort arrives at Hogwarts in her fifth year-new to England, new to everything-she doesn't know quite what to expect. After years of being homeschooled in the French countryside with little company but books, broomsticks, and the quiet hum of her own thoughts, she's suddenly surrounded by castle walls that shift when they please, classmates who speak in riddles and inside jokes, and a world that feels bigger and louder than anything she's known before.
She hopes, more than anything, to find her place in it-to make friends, to blend in, maybe even join the Quidditch team if she's lucky. She isn't looking for trouble. She certainly isn't looking for him.
But Fred Weasley has a way of appearing precisely when she least expects it-sharp-witted, maddeningly charming, and far too observant for her liking. He's the kind of boy who turns everything into a game and everyone into a player, the kind who leaves you flustered without ever laying a hand.
Then there's Thomas May. He's the kind of boy who makes the world quieter, who listens without needing to be asked. Being around him feels like catching her breath.
But it's Fred who lingers. Fred who sparks. Fred who sees something in her she's not sure she wants seen.
Remy knows she came to Hogwarts to find herself. She just didn't expect to be found quite so quickly.
Because some things are worth chasing.
And some things chase you right back.
