When a massive earthquake destroys all that Laila holds dear and forces her and her people to the surface, she quickly realizes that without a voice, she is useless. While her people help the humans rebuild their kingdom in exchange for their healing abilities, Laila can only sit back and admire their song, wishing with all her might that she too had a song to sing. But as she grows closer to the human prince, Laila discovers that having a voice brings great responsibility and she learns just how dangerous it can be when a song goes unsung.
