Misunderstood... Not many people who use this word to describe the lonely princess of vampires, Lana. Most would use ruthless, evil and scary. Mostly these because she lures young teens into her castle and feasts on their blood. But Jamie is different. The exact opposite of Lana. The Princess cannot help but like Jamie. But, Jamie gets kidnapped. In order to find her, Lana must figure out some things about her past and how much she will risk for her friend.
I see the moon arching into the sky. I smile with glee as I slam the book shut and glide to the door. I leak around the staircase to see a girl, probably seventeen, standing just outside my house. Her blonde hair is wet and soggy and her small frame is shivering in the cold. It pours rain outside but she stays out there.
I reveal myself. "Why don't you come inside?" I ask. "This confuses me dearly." What am I saying! 'Dearly' what the hell!
"You have not invited me inside, your highness, it would be rude and misplaced if I stepped inside." She replies. Something about this girl makes me like her. Maybe it's her smile, or her politeness but something tells me it's deeper. But how does she know what I am? She is merely a human girl that only cares about makeup and boys. Right?
Ari and Soren's adventures continue as Soren struggles with his new vampiric urges and a coven of witches attempts to recruit Ari for their own ends.
*****
As dark dreams plague Soren, Ari finds his new abilities difficult to control. Something is awakening within him, and as his power grows, he attracts the attention of a group of witches who call themselves the Hecataeon. They believe Ari is an emanation of the goddess Hecate - a physical manifestation of her power - and they want that power for themselves. With their relationship facing challenges from within, Ari and Soren must find a way to unite their strengths before external forces tear them apart.
