Elia is a quiet worker in the Callum compound-a facility built to house and control the Twelve ancient cards. She moves through the halls unnoticed, blending in. That's exactly how she wants it.

But when a long-dormant card reacts in her presence, eyes start turning. None more dangerous than Gabriel Callum's, heir to the family that rules the building.

Gabriel is used to knowing what people think before they speak. He can read everyone. But Elia is the only one who gives him nothing: no thoughts, no signals, just silence. And the more he tries to understand her, the more that silence begins to unravel something in him.

Then there's Theo, a card hunter bound by contract to the Callums. A borrowed weapon, no stranger to people being used and discarded. He's seen what the cards can do. But Elia doesn't fit the pattern. The more he watches her, the more convinced he becomes. She may be the one the cards have chosen.

As the Twelve begin to awaken and forgotten legacies rise again, Elia finds herself at the center of something the Council didn't prepare for.

𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐭:
"Touch me," Gabriel whispered.
Elia's fingers hesitated over the fabric. She looked at him now, brows slightly drawn, unsure. "What?"
Her voice was soft, careful. She wasn't afraid, but she didn't understand.
He stepped closer and gently took her hand, wrapping his fingers around it. His grip was steady, warm.
"When you touch me," he murmured, "everything else goes quiet." His voice was low, threaded with something he could no longer hold back.
He kissed her. Not rushed or reckless, but with a quiet intensity that shook him more than he let show.
She kissed him back.
This time, when her lips moved gently with his, it wasn't fire. It was grounding.
They didn't speak.
Because the words weren't needed.
Because the quiet they found in each other was louder than anything the world outside could offer.

With just a glance, he can unravel the cool, confident woman she's worked so hard to become. He drives her insane... yet she can't seem to escape the way he makes her feel. . . . Then punish me, Lilah," he whispered, low, deliberate, sinful. My name rolled off his tongue like it was made for my lips alone. Heat pooled deep inside me. My mind teetered on the edge of surrender. A dangerous idea struck. I tilted my head, eyes locked on his, and let my fingers drift over his forearm- the one resting on my thigh. Featherlight, I traced up to his bicep, over the curve of his neck, and finally let the back of my hand brush his cheek. My thumb traced over his bottom lip in a slow, deliberate caress. His gaze followed, wide, hungry, submitting under my touch. "Do I plan on punishing you, Grey?" I murmured, letting my voice drip with false innocence. I bit my lower lip, slow enough for him to notice, and held his eyes while I did it. He seized my wrist with his free hand, fingers strong and possessive. His eyes flicked to my mouth, back to my eyes, then back down again. Every lean forward, every shift of his body screamed that he wanted more. Needed more.

*I do not own any rights to the photo used as my cover* *** #2 in TeenRomance (2026) #4 in Gayness (26) #9 in Teenager (2026) #11 in Coming out the closet (2021) I started this story in 2021... Everything is cringy and bad about this story, but I decided to complete this book since I got a lot of comments disappointed it was never finished. Eric didn't choose or really want to be gay, it just kind of happen- something that just happened, he can't even remember how he found out he was gay all he knew was that he was, And it wasn't like there's nothing wrong with that. Eric wasn't homophobic, he didn't feel disgusted in himself but rather disappointed. Everyone put pressure on him to be this perfect person, whether it being grades or sports or family- everything would be ruin if he came out. That's why he hadn't told anyone in the last couple years, not because he's scared- pft, Eric Goodmen scared? Star football player? Could have all the women by just a click of a button if wasn't for being in love with the same gender- scared? He was just a little 'inconvenienced'. One party changed everything though- to many drinks and making out with the wrong gender to send his fake perfect life crashing down when discovering out the first person he came out to, kissed, and had sex with was Callum Micheals. Mr pretty boy. Like life flashing before his eyes- Eric questioned whether Callum remembered or not? *** The smell of a nose itching fabric softer, too expensive for his parents to buy and the feel of warm feather pillows is what Eric woke up to. His body was somewhat tired, and sweaty but besides that, he felt good- he even let out a morning moan sitting up with his arms to look around, he was at Jackson's. A light ache from his hangover rang through his head reminding him that he drank a lot last night seconds later, he opened his mouth to hiss or groan in pain, but the groan that brought silence to the room wasn't his- it was, "Callum?!" Eric whisper shouted.
