Abiha has been kidnapped before. More than once. It's become a twisted rhythm in her life-disappearances, close escapes, sleepless nights, and security systems that never feel secure enough. She doesn't know why they're after her. She only knows they always come back. This time, she wakes up in an unfamiliar house after narrowly escaping what could've been her final destination: human trafficking. But the real confusion begins when she meets the man who saved her. He's calm. He's commanding. He's infuriatingly familiar, only because old ghosts never stop haunting a person. The man in front of her is nothing like the boy she remembers... and yet everything about him strikes a chord too deep to ignore. But between her and the answers stands a man with ice in his veins and fire in his eyes. A man who speaks in silence. A man who saved her... but might be the most dangerous mystery of all.

They told me the house was empty. That the boy I was supposed to care for wasn't real. Just a doll. Just a job. But then I heard things. Felt things. The whispers in the walls, the way the air shifted like someone was always watching me. I should be scared. I should leave. But there's something about him-something that keeps pulling me back. Maybe it's the loneliness in his voice. Or the way he lingers in the shadows, waiting for me to see him. All I know is... I don't think I want to run anymore.
