Gilda Perkins would be the first to say that her life was okay. Retirement was a sweet place to be indeed. Every afternoon, she had a cup of tea and settled down to read. They were peaceful and restful, and Gilda believed she needed nothing more for the rest of her life.
One afternoon, her peace is broken by a sharp knock on the door. The person behind the knock would bring Gilda to question herself to extents she would never have imagined. Her life changed with that day. It was the day SHE knocked on her door.

A Girl and a Whiteboard

32 parts Complete

She's hopeless and defenseless. She was always the strong one making sure everybody was okay and then she cracked. Emory was always the talkative type, the one who laughed at the simplest things, and the one who was happy. After that day, her life turned upside down. She didn't talk anymore, people considered her mute. She transformed into a girl who only communicated by writing on a white board. Her life would never be the same again so what was the point. She thought all of this until she met, well saw, a boy in the park who didn't look at her with sadness or pity because he just didn't know yet. This is the story of how Emory has to deal with being a girl with a whiteboard.
