Layers of Quin: Book of Poetry
This book is a representation of my life over the past seven years. I first started writing poetry when I went to foster care when I was 15 years old. Poetry was my outlet for all of the anger I had inside with nowhere for it to go in a healthy way. Poetry for me is like the second baby that I have birthed and grow from my stomach, out of the labor pains of my life's trails. All of the blood, sweat and tears over the years, as I'm birthing my pain, quite literally. My poems are the placenta to the after birth of all of the pushing that I've had from the storms in my life. God is the doctor that stitches me up from all of the straining I did from not pushing correctly for years and years, until I finally birth His masterpiece; the healed version of myself.
Scripture Speaks
Reading God's Word is truly an enlightening, on-going experience; one that I truly enjoy. I began posting His Word in "My Highlighted Bible Verses" and couldn't stop. He started talking to me through Scripture, some of the messaging is beyond me, and still continues to be that way, although I am learning. I think He wants me to share His Word, if you can put up with some of my commentaries. This is all God's doing, and I don't take credit for any of it - He created me. Reflections: A Journey of Overcoming Mental Illness and Returning to God
The following pages are my reflections of my last 13 years battling with mental health issues and my recent return to God. These years have been filled with struggle, traumas, and pain. It's no coincidence that when these struggles started, I turned my back on God and my faith and spent most of the rest of these years in darkness, depression, and despair. However, since returning to my faith, I have experienced a tremendous amount of healing, and my life has changed in ways I didn't think possible. Once haunted with my past, I have now rediscovered hope in my life, and the sting associated with my mental health issue have begun to fade.
