The question was soft, but it hit something deep inside him. He didn't answer immediately. Instead, he lifted his hands again, cupping her face with the same gentleness, the same reverence as before.

His thumbs traced her skin as though memorizing her in the half-light."Tara," he whispered, leaning just close enough that she could feel his breath, "I love you."
Her lips parted slightly, breath catching."Tum sitara ho meri zindagi ka... meri Tara."

He said it like it wasn't a confession but a truth he had carried for too long. And then - almost instinctively - he lowered his head until his forehead rested against hers.

Their breaths mingled, warm despite the cold air around them. His eyes were half closed, searching her face so close his lashes almost brushed her skin.

For the first time, Tara didn't retreat. She didn't overthink. She didn't hide. She simply leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss to his cheek.

A soft, hesitant kiss... but one that carried every unspoken feeling she had buried for months. Her heart thudded so loudly she wondered if he could hear it.

Rishi stopped breathing.

He couldn't.

The guy who never let any girl touch him is now completely whipped for his woman.

Just that simple touch - that single shy kiss - and everything inside him went utterly still, like the world had paused just to replay the moment again and again.

His jaw tensed, eyes fluttering shut, as if her lips had set off an entire universe inside him.

Tara stepped back just a little, her eyes holding his with an unfamiliar steadiness."I'll give answer to this question later..." she whispered, her fingers still lightly clutching his shirt, her cheeks warm with the afterglow of her own courage.
