You Promised Me

“Please don’t forget me, Zane.” I whispered as another tear slid down my cheek. “I promise Macey. I’d never forget you.” He said as a tear slid down his cheek. I hugged him one last time and got in my car as my mom drove away with me leaving all my memories behind.

That was the last thing that happened between best friends Macey Clark and Zane Lewis. The first few months after Macey left, they texted, mailed letters and sent emails back and forth, but they slowly drifted apart and before they knew it, they weren’t contacting each other anymore.

After Macey has been gone for four years, she returns to her little hometown of Diamond Beach, New Jersey. Macey is no longer the shy country girl she was before she left. No, she’s returned as the outgoing, sun-kissed, gorgeous, eighteen year old goddess she changed into over the four years spent in Long Beach, Florida. All the guys are attracted to her and they all want to be with her.

She never expected to be reunited with Zane, nor did he expect to be reunited with her. But, when they meet due to an unfortunate event, they start getting together more often, no matter how much they dislike it. The more and more they hang out, old feelings they had towards each other start coming out. But, can they forgive each other just enough to let the other one in?
