In Trapped, Miracle, a young Black woman, is stuck in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend, Jaylen. He controls her every move and hurts her, leaving her feeling lost and alone. Miracle's world has shrunk, and the dreams she once had are fading. But even in this dark time, Miracle holds onto hope. She remembers a past love with someone named Messiah-a love that was kind and true. Knowing she can't stay with Jaylen, Miracle secretly plans her escape. "If you love me, you won't leave me." Jessie has believed those words from her boyfriend, Josh, since senior year of high school. She loves him and doesn't want to leave him. She makes up her mind that if he is falling, and if he does love her, he'll wait for her to be ready, and if she loves him, she won't let herself hurt him.
