Young substitute teacher Stephano Novak walks upstairs one day to find a young girl trying to jump off the school building thinking the only thing they have in common is the cartridge of cigarettes in their pockets. He never thinks he'll have to face her again but life takes an unexpected turn when she shows up at his other job and he has to take on the responsibility of being the girl's language teacher for the rest of the year.
