Looking around, only trees and bugs surround me. I slowly sank to my knees, gripping the grass in between my fingers, to keep my breathing calm. Tears springing to my eyes and brushing the tears away, slowly getting back to normal. Suddenly, I felt someone behind me. I could feel its strength and power surround me, turning around to see a dark figure behind me. Glowing blue eyes stared at me, seeing it slowly walk toward me. My breathing becoming short again, a panic attack was on the verge. A hand was now on my shoulder and another on my cold cheek, making me look into his eyes, "Let me help you..." He whispered. Rubbing his thumb against my cheek, I slowly nod my head, when a pain began to form in my chest. I knew it was coming. I quickly get away, crawling a couple feet away. "Get away!" I yelled. Fear
All I've ever known is fear, and a strange dream...a reoccurring nightmare, where someone is hunting me, chasing me, never gaining or receding, in a strange place where everything is bathed in an orange hue. I live in a grey world where everyone is the same....if anyone finds out I'm not 'normal', it will mean a trip to the 'mind doctor, who I fear more than the nightmares. I could lose what little independence I have...it's all I own, all I am. Until one day, the dream finds me... I wake from the latest nightmare, and find a note warning of danger, and that 'they' are coming. As a child you always fear the monster under your bed or in your closet. Maybe you watched a scary movie or were told a horror story to make you believe something was under there. You jump onto your bed and jerk your limbs away from the edge or always shut your closet door. Then you hide under the covers in hopes that they don't get to you. As you grow older you realize the invisible monster under your bed is just that, invisible. Its not that they don't exist, it's just that you don't see them. You write off the bumps in the night as the wind or shifting floorboards but they're lies. Little white lies you tell yourself so you can sleep at night. Well I'm here to tell you that whatever is causing those bumps is very real. In my case, the source doesn't hide in my closet but rather under my bed.
