This book is related and based of the PS5 game called Stray about a world without humans and only robots where a group of cats are left to survive. This is set back before that happened. The era of a non-human ran earth has begun. Cats have overpopulated the humans by thousands, leaving no choice but to evacuate. Pedro is a in a group of stray cats that live in east New Mexico. They live in an abandoned structure of a old bar. One day, Pedro's friend Jo'se notices more cats are starting to go missing from their gang. At first, Pedro thought some cats were just traveling a lot more often during the early spring, but then Jo'se himself goes missing. Gathering some of his gang members, he sets off to put a paw down on the tail of the cat snatcher.

She's feisty. I think she's perfect for you." I glare at them. "I don't want a pet human. That's your disgusting fetish, and I'll have no part in it." "Oh come on Captain," the first soldier whines, "You don't have to fuck her, just train her to be obedient. Surely you can control one measly wild human? You are a captain after all. When you're done, you can just get rid of her, like I do with my humans." What the fuck? For a brief moment my fear is replaced by anger. Who do they think they are, talking about me like I'm some kind of wild animal? "Get the fuck away from me! You freaks!" I screech. The first soldier just flashes an evil grin. They don't budge. The distant future. The war between androids and humanity has recently ended. The humans barely won, losing many technologies. A little time has passed, and a new threat has emerged. The emperor of one of the empires wants to enslave everyone, and the Republic of free planets is forced to enter the war. The Republic's scientists invent a new engine, but it needs a lot of gold. One of the ships of the free planets goes to a newly discovered, backward planet. It is inhabited by humans, but communication with other planets has long been lost, and the people have slipped into a feudal-slave system. The scientists on the ship can't directly show their presence because of the rules and decide to turn some crew members into gods so they can collect gold. But first, the scientists decide to organize a rebellion on the planet. The godlike have to face many difficulties.
