Squid Game Season 2 and 3 continues the story of Seong Gi-hun (Player 456), three years after winning the game. Instead of escaping to the US, Gi-hun returns with a new resolve to end the deadly competition for good. This season introduces Kai, an 18-year-old agender, aroace Mexican player who is caught in the brutal world of the games due to overwhelming debt related to their college studies in Korea. Seen as odd and rude, Kai struggles to trust others but slowly forms a complicated bond with Gi-hun, who sees in them a reminder of past losses and the harshness of the game's toll on youth. Together, they face new challenges and confront deeper secrets behind the game's organizers, revealing more about the twisted motivations that keep the games alive.

Kim Hae-won has lost complete faith in humanity. After surviving the games in 2013 at just eighteen years old, Il-nam offers her the opportunity of a lifetime: become the hostess for the games. For eleven years, she and the Frontman, Hwang In-ho, operate the games side-by-side. That is until Seong Gi-hun, a disgruntled previous winner, wishes to come back to the game. Determined to tear him apart, Hae-won infiltrates the game once more, except she gets more than she bargained for; A reunion with the only boy she'd ever loved. Now Hae-won's morals are put into question and she has to decide whose team she's on. The man rebelling against all she believes? The man controlling the games behind the scenes? Or the boy she abandoned eleven years ago?
