Bruce Anthony, a young-adult journalism student at the University of Raccoon City, is driven by a hunger for truth and inspired by investigative reporter Alyssa Ashcroft. Calm, analytical, and socially adept, Bruce's unremarkable physique belies a sharp mind that pieces together the city's unraveling mystery. When strange reports of "cannibalistic attacks" surface, he senses a career-defining story, unaware that his pursuit of answers will lead him into the heart of Umbrella's conspiracy.

Paul Shell, also a young-adult man, is a frustrated RPD administrative assistant with a passion for military tactics and firearms, repeatedly rejected by the RPD and S.T.A.R.S. for his lack of skill and build. Strong but slightly overweight, with a grown beard and intense resolve, Paul's combat knowledge becomes his lifeline as the city descends into chaos. Stuck in a desk job, he's itching to prove himself, but nothing prepares him for the horrors unleashed by the T-virus.
