(Y/N), like any other ordinary individual, is just trying to live their life out. They notice the good weather, and decide it's only appropriate to enjoy the day out.
Unfortunately, everything goes horribly wrong as soon as they start to see Goosebumps creatures roaming around, destroying. They even meet one of Stine's infamous monsters, Slappy.
Little do they know, Slappy had seemed to gain interest in them, and as he tries to take over Madison, he tries to also withhold the warmth they gave him after a (unintentional) compliment.
