Some of the events are based on historical fact and the personal writings of Gülbeyaz and the people in her life. This story follows her life as she enters the harem of Suleiman and as she navigates life as one of Suleiman's consorts and a mother and the life in the Ottoman Empire. Prince Mehmed was itching to rule a Sanjak like his older brother Mustafa but his mother wouldn't let him in fear that she will have to leave the castle with him like the customs demand. When he finally gets to rule a Sanjak he meets the rebellious Shams who refuses to bow down to anyone. #1 samra #3 mustafa This idea came to me after watching the famous show "Magnificent Century".
