Looking to the past, will never give salvation. It will drown thee with despair, just like the former job that used to be within ones grasp.
Now you start a new grasping new possibilities. Open new doors, move forward. But if you keep looking back, the guilt creeping up will be ones ruin.

This may be the first fanfic that's about the monster from the reverse-horror game called Carrion! Let's see how it goes! All art, videos, music, etc. belong to their original owners. Also, I won't be using anything the game trailers showed us. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After butchering and consuming everyone in that underground laboratory and escaping under the guise of a human, you went into hiding in society. Switching between appearances to stay hidden along with eating people that no one would miss, especially criminals. You'd sometimes eat some grimm too. What happened to you is that you were born as a bizarre pile of biomass created by nature's natural selection. When some humans made contact with you years later, you immediately infected and possessed one of them and began to evolve rapidly. It was then you developed a personality and can think like an intelligent species. All before being captured, experimented on, and then escaping not long after. Luckily for the world, you aren't super bloodthirsty or a complete psychopath. Your personality is that of someone humble and wanting peace. Just like how mother nature is and must be respected as so. Speaking of the world, you figure out that the world you reside in now is called Remnant. Compared to the laboratory below, the outside world is much worse with the Grimm and humans fighting each other. But it is also the world where you will actually find your place in these harsh lands of savage beasts and advanced weaponry. Along with those whom you will reside alongside with. And if anyone wishes to take them from you, they will know the color of death from within. You are the monster. You are the parasite. You are... Carrion This is your story.
Elysium and Lapina: the World Powers
Its the been many years since the end of the 1st Remnantian War, or the Great War as it was known, but the victors weren't those of the 4 Kingdoms, no it was the 2 others that were forced into a war they didn't want a part of There was Elysium, or the Elysium Federation, a Kingdom with knightly values and had a strong belief in ones self and not relying on powers to such to win. Second was the Lapina Kingdom, a land filled with live and unique resources that made them a global power. They are Faunus who fled the racial discrimination and found this land and harvest it These two would enter the war provoked, with most of their people being attacked or harmed. Soon they came in hard and made those responsible pay for what they did. I worked for longer than anyone could imagine... Just for it to come to this... No matter what I do... Nothing is ever good enough. Maybe this is my place in life. Maybe this is just my destiny: Failure. - Gazing into the mind of an antagonist who's drive for success led him down the wrong rabbit hole. A man living in the shadows of a broken world. Though maybe the world wasn't broken. Maybe it was just him all along. Maybe the broken world broke him too, and if everything's broken, it's perfectly fine, right? Mostly following the plot of Spirit Tracks, through Byrne's eyes, and his desperate attempt to gain power for a reason misinterpreted, though probably understandable. I've put my own original turns on this every now and then, as one would probably expect, but it's not romance, none of that hopeless crap. But rather, a thin line of grief and denial. Exchanging one life for another. Of course however, in the end... Is it really Byrne's mind? Or another? It's debatable, depending on how technical you'd want to get... It follows memories, feelings-even conflicting ones. I don't write to impress people, so don't get your hopes up. I didn't start proof reading until after Chapter Four, so prepare yourself. The story, being carried in first person, I tried to put emphasis on one's head. I don't think there's too much drama, I wanted things to at least make some kind of sense... But, alas, everything is just a perspective, for each of us. I don't think I'm right, but I don't think I'm wrong. We don't really know what happened, so I suppose that's the beauty of freedom. Sometimes his uncles and cousins did as well but for unknown reasons. He never got help from his mother or aunts as they went missing years ago. He never understood why he was mistreated. When he went to Beacon, he thought that it was all over. But as he had terrible luck as usual, he was wrong. He was bullied by most of the students including team CRDL since he was the weakest student in the whole school. His siblings were there was well, making his situation even worse. He thought out help from the teachers, but they wouldn't help at all, they would usually either telling him to get stronger or go home. One day, Ozpin sent him off on a mission to collect something that he wasn't told of. When he does, it was all a trap by an unknown group. As he's kidnapped, he finds something very old and he becomes someone else completely; an Assassin. He'll soon understand the world more and the words that he always heard but never understood will finally make sense: "Where other men blindly follow the truth, Remember, nothing is true. Where other men are limited by morality or law, Remember, everything is permitted. We work in the dark to serve the light. We are assassins." Key factors about this story: 1. Each sequence is the main story. 2. Lost sequences are stuff that either happened before or things that I forgot to add at some point, so they're cannon and probably are important to the story.
