At what point does passion turn into self destruction?

In this personal reflection, I'll share my journey with competitive gaming, and the emotional cost of chasing perfection. What began as a love for a game morphed into an all-consuming cycle of validation, self-hatred, and identity loss.

This isn't just a story about leaving a game behind. It's about recognizing when something once meaningful starts to hurt you, and finding the courage to step away, whether it's a toxic routine, relationship, or mindset.

It's about healing. Rebuilding. And choosing peace over performance.

You are no longer my child, I don't know who you are or what you have done with my daughter but you aren't her." My eyes start to water, great so I am apparently disowned, an ungrateful peace of shit and i'm not good enough for anyone. ***{Sneak Peak TWO}*** I look over at the door to see Juliano opening it. He walks over to me and says, "So we might have a slight problem." I look at him in confusion as he continues speaking, "Do you remember Lucian Kingston?" I nod. Of course I remember that creep. when you need me most by say_hello_7
13 parts Ongoing Mature
When you need me most, that's when I walk away. I've spent years with him-giving, pretending, sacrificing-but I've never really felt the way I thought I would. And still, I've never fully walked away. Each day feels heavier than the last, a quiet ache gnawing at me, reminding me that the person I'm losing isn't him... it's myself. People see us together and think it's enough. They see the smiles, the routines, the quiet mornings, the coffee he always makes, and they assume our love is perfect. They do not know the nights I lie awake, questioning if staying is worth the cost, or if leaving will destroy everything I've built inside myself. They do not know the small, invisible ways I've been disappearing-slowly, quietly, while he keeps holding on, unaware of how fragile I feel. It isn't that I don't care for him. He's kind, patient, and loving in ways that make me ache. But sometimes love isn't enough when it takes more than you can give-and when the person you're with doesn't meet you where you need them most. Between guilt, obligation, and the pull of familiarity, I've lost sight of myself, and I can't tell if I'm holding on to him... or just holding myself back. And now, when life throws new challenges his way, I have to face a question I've avoided for far too long: do I continue to sacrifice myself for a love that demands everything and gives only uncertainty? Or do I finally choose me-even if it means letting go?

Hello, my precious humans! I will like to share my experiences about my personal growth and what I have to learn from my past. This will talk about breaking the cycles of unhealthy behaviors, accountability, healing, boundaries, families, parenting, relationships, and friendships. I will be sharing short stories as well. I do human coaching. I am not a licensed therapist. Those are advices and opinion based that are put in perspectives to help others learn from their mistakes and help understand others past experience. Those writings are going to be very blunt and truthful. I do not sugar coat anything. It's your decision if you want to take it or leave it. That is up to you. Enjoy reading! Stay healthy and drink water!
