Chaos grows in the Outer Rim. The immortal Force-being known as Abeloth continues to use the Shadow Wars to manipulate the Empire into achieving her ultimate goal: becoming the galaxy's unrivaled God. Only the uneasy alliance between the Je'daii and their mortal enemy, Darth Vader-still presumed dead by most of the Empire-stand in her way.

After splitting the Mortis Dagger in half during their confrontation in the ethereal realm of Mortis, the Je'daii and the Sith have to find a way to put it back together since it is the only weapon capable of killing Abeloth. Can the Outcasts stop the Mother of Chaos before it's too late? 

In the meantime, Maul searches for the Force artifact known as the Fermata Cage to imprison Abeloth  and take over the Empire. However, he is unaware that he is not the only one working in the shadows to usurp the Mortis Goddess for their ends....
