The 118 deals with a series of intense emergencies: a chemical spill, a building collapse, and a daring rescue from a raging wildfire. Adding to the chaos, Olivia "Liv" Buckley, Buck's younger sister and a fellow firefighter, joins the team with her adopted daughter, Lizzie. Liv is strong, independent, and determined to prove herself. When he arrives a few years later, Eddie is immediately drawn to Liv's courage and compassion, and their shared experiences as first responders create an undeniable bond. As their attraction intensifies, they navigate the complexities of working together and the potential impact on Eddie's son, Christopher, and Lizzie. The romance between Liv and Eddie brings both excitement and challenges, forcing the 118 to confront their own definitions of family and love.

After the loss of Bobby Nash, the 118 begins to pull itself back together, but Evan "Buck" Buckley is quietly falling apart. Afraid to care for anyone else and risk losing them, Buck distances himself from his friends, even Eddie, the man who's always had his back. But when a near-tragedy forces them to face the feelings they've both buried for too long, Buck and Eddie find themselves fighting for more than just survival. Through grief, danger, and second chances, they discover that love, like the family they've built, can withstand anything. And when the smoke clears, it's about more than what's been lost. It's about who's still standing beside you.
