Your memory was... unreliable.

You were startled- would "awake" be the correct term?- when for some unbeknownst reason, you realised you lacked a body. What you hoped was your heart floated in front of you, floating and concerningly, a strange shade of indigo.

That was, until you were told you had lost your body, and your very being turned into nothing more than shoddy strings for a real life puppet-show that you knew nothing about. It seems like neither of you are happy about this situation.

College AU where Reader has amnesia. And also an unspecified gender, for everyone's enjoyment. Reader is the soul now, but not the original determination soul that possessed Kris through multiple runs including snowgrave. Which is why Kris forced a reset when they did in this AU. Original soul/player quit. You took over.

This won't be told to Reader for a while, but this is so YOU know why Kris will still have a LOT of resentment towards having the soul possess them in general, but I plan to write it real cute (after a while). Trying to keep it original and not like a total written copy of the game, which will be a challenge. Might not have as many frequent updates as my au skelebro antiharem and I have no shame about that. (It will be frequently updated one day, fear not for my fluctuating hyperfixations.)

Probably not going to have official relationships in this bc it'd happen at the end and I probably won't end this, it's a comfort fic for me (if it ends I will though! I'll include a few different endings). I'll probably just be writing a really long slow burn with friends that flirt here and there and have trauma and jealousy issues.
