In an alternate 19th-century Paris where scandal is buried with ceremony, Marinette designs garments for the grieving-but never for the dead. That is, until a peculiar commission arrives: a symbolic funeral for Adrien Agreste, a disgraced nobleman whose sins are whispered about like poetry.
This is an AU reinterpretation of my original literary novella A Beautiful Exit. It imagines Adrien and Marinette in a world of mourning couture, scandal, and silent transformation. Written in the style of historical gothic fiction, with themes of shame, beauty, and the quiet intimacy between grief and grace.
